Escape from an apostate church through knowledge of Scriptures.
How To Identify a False Teacher
How do we positively identify who the false teachers are, what is the evidence that the ministers of the New Apostolic Church are actually appointed by false apostles? In summary, ministers and apostles of the NAC have uttered false prophesies, they were called by a false prophet named Geyer who later denounced the apostles of the NAC, they were not called by Yahshua our true Messiah Himself, they preach subjection to the whims of a man (the "chief apostle"), and they teach the traditions of men instead of obedience to the commandments of Elohim.
How do we identify a false teacher in order to never again be deceived by charlatans like those who lead the New Apostolic Church?
As with all matters, the Scriptures are the true authority, and what the Scriptures have recorded regarding false-teachers must be studied thoroughly and understood. Let us allow the Scriptures to speak.
“If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder, 2 and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, ‘Let us go after other gods’—which you have not known—‘and let us serve them,’ 3 you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for יהוה your Elohim is testing you to know whether you love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul. 4 You shall walk after יהוה your Elohim and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice; you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him. 5 But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has spoken in order to turn you away from יהוה your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of bondage, to entice you from the way in which יהוה your Elohim commanded you to walk. So you shall put away the evil from your midst.
6 “If your brother, the son of your mother, your son or your daughter, the wife of your bosom, or your friend who is as your own soul, secretly entices you, saying, ‘Let us go and serve other gods,’ which you have not known, neither you nor your fathers, 7 of the gods of the people which are all around you, near to you or far off from you, from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth, 8 you shall not consent to him or listen to him, nor shall your eye pity him, nor shall you spare him or conceal him; 9 but you shall surely kill him; your hand shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. 10 And you shall stone him with stones until he dies, because he sought to entice you away from יהוה your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. 11 So all Israel shall hear and fear, and not again do such wickedness as this among you.
12 “If you hear someone in one of your cities, which יהוה your Elohim gives you to dwell in, saying, 13 ‘Corrupt men have gone out from among you and enticed the inhabitants of their city, saying, “Let us go and serve other gods” ’—which you have not known— 14 then you shall inquire, search out, and ask diligently. And if it is indeed true and certain that such an abomination was committed among you, 15 you shall surely strike the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying it, all that is in it and its livestock—with the edge of the sword. 16 And you shall gather all its plunder into the middle of the street, and completely burn with fire the city and all its plunder, for יהוה your Elohim. It shall be a heap forever; it shall not be built again. 17 rSo none of the accursed things shall remain in your hand, that יהוה may turn from the fierceness of His anger and show you mercy, have compassion on you and multiply you, just as He swore to your fathers, 18 because you have listened to the voice of יהוה your Elohim, to keep all His commandments which I command you today, to do what is right in the eyes of יהוה your Elohim.
15 “יהוה your Elohim will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren. Him you shall hear, 16 according to all you desired of יהוה your Elohim in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, ‘Let me not hear again the voice of יהוה my Elohim, nor let me see this great fire anymore, lest I die.’
17 “And יהוה said to me: ‘What they have spoken is good. 18 I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. 19 And it shall be that whoever will not hear My words, which He speaks in My name, I will require it of him. 20 But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.’ 21 And if you say in your heart, ‘How shall we know the word which יהוה has not spoken?’— 22when a prophet speaks in the name of יהוה, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which יהוה has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.
1 Kings 13
13 At יהוה’s command, a man of Elohim from Judah went to Bethel, and he arrived there just as Jeroboam was approaching the altar to offer a sacrifice. 2Then at יהוה’s command, he shouted, “O altar, altar! This is what יהוה says: A child named Josiah will be born into the dynasty of David. On you he will sacrifice the priests from the pagan shrines who come here to burn incense, and human bones will be burned on you.” 3That same day the man of Elohim gave a sign to prove his message, and he said, “יהוה has promised to give this sign: This altar will split apart, and its ashes will be poured out on the ground.”
4King Jeroboam was very angry with the man of Elohim for speaking against the altar. So he pointed at the man and shouted, “Seize that man!” But instantly the king’s hand became paralyzed in that position, and he couldn’t pull it back. 5At the same time a wide crack appeared in the altar, and the ashes poured out, just as the man of Elohim had predicted in his message from יהוה.
6The king cried out to the man of Elohim, “Please ask יהוה your Elohim to restore my hand again!” So the man of Elohim prayed to יהוה, and the king’s hand became normal again.
7Then the king said to the man of Elohim, “Come to the palace with me and have something to eat, and I will give you a gift.”
8But the man of Elohim said to the king, “Even if you gave me half of everything you own, I would not go with you. I would not eat any food or drink any water in this place. 9For יהוה gave me this command: ‘You must not eat any food or drink any water while you are there, and do not return to Judah by the same way you came.’” 10So he left Bethel and went home another way.
11As it happened, there was an old prophet living in Bethel, and his sons came home and told him what the man of Elohim had done in Bethel that day. They also told him what he had said to the king. 12The old prophet asked them, “Which way did he go?” So they told their father which road the man of Elohim had taken. 13“Quick, saddle the donkey,” the old man said. And when they had saddled the donkey for him, 14he rode after the man of Elohim and found him sitting under an oak tree.
The old prophet asked him, “Are you the man of Elohim who came from Judah?”
“Yes,” he replied, “I am.”
15Then he said to the man of Elohim, “Come home with me and eat some food.”
16“No, I cannot,” he replied. “I am not allowed to eat any food or drink any water here in this place. 17For יהוה gave me this command: ‘You must not eat any food or drink any water while you are there, and do not return to Judah by the same way you came.’”
18But the old prophet answered, “I am a prophet, too, just as you are. And an angel gave me this message from יהוה: ‘Bring him home with you, and give him food to eat and water to drink.’” But the old man was lying to him. 19So they went back together, and the man of Elohim ate some food and drank some water at the prophet’s home.
20Then while they were sitting at the table, a message from יהוה came to the old prophet. 21He cried out to the man of Elohim from Judah, “This is what יהוה says: You have defied יהוה’s message and have disobeyed the command יהוה your Elohim gave you. 22You came back to this place and ate food and drank water where he told you not to eat or drink. Because of this, your body will not be buried in the grave of your ancestors.”
23Now after the man of Elohim had finished eating and drinking, the prophet saddled his own donkey for him, 24and the man of Elohim started off again. But as he was traveling along, a lion came out and killed him. His body lay there on the road, with the donkey and the lion standing beside it. 25People came by and saw the body lying in the road and the lion standing beside it, and they went and reported it in Bethel, where the old prophet lived.
26When the old prophet heard the report, he said, “It is the man of Elohim who disobeyed יהוה’s command. יהוה has fulfilled his word by causing the lion to attack and kill him.”
27Then the prophet said to his sons, “Saddle a donkey for me.” So they saddled a donkey, 28and he went out and found the body lying in the road. The donkey and lion were still standing there beside it, for the lion had not eaten the body nor attacked the donkey. 29So the prophet laid the body of the man of Elohim on the donkey and took it back to the city to mourn over him and bury him. 30He laid the body in his own grave, crying out in grief, “Oh, my brother!”
31Afterward the prophet said to his sons, “When I die, bury me in the grave where the man of Elohim is buried. Lay my bones beside his bones. 32For the message יהוה told him to proclaim against the altar in Bethel and against the pagan shrines in the towns of Samaria will surely come true.”
2 Chronicles 18
King James Restored Names Version
4And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of יהוה to day.5Therefore the king of Israel gathered together of prophets four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for Elohim will deliver it into the king’s hand.6But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of יהוה besides, that we might enquire of him? 7And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whom we may enquire of יהוה: but I hate him; for he never prophesied good unto me, but always evil: the same is MicaiYah the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.8And the king of Israel called for one of his officers, and said, Fetch quickly MicaiYah the son of Imla. 9And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah sat either of them on his throne, clothed in their robes, and they sat in a void place at the entering in of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them. 10And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah had made him horns of iron, and said, Thus saith יהוה, With these thou shalt push Syria until they be consumed. 11And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramothgilead, and prosper: for יהוה shall deliver it into the hand of the king.12And the messenger that went to call MicaiYah spake to him, saying, Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one assent; let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of theirs, and speak thou good. 13And MicaiYah said, As יהוה liveth, even what my Elohim saith, that will I speak.14And when he was come to the king, the king said unto him, MicaiYah, shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And he said, Go ye up, and prosper, and they shall be delivered into your hand.15And the king said to him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou say nothing but the truth to me in the name of יהוה?16Then he said, I did see all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and יהוה said, These have no master; let them return therefore every man to his house in peace.17And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would not prophesy good unto me, but evil? 18Again he said, Therefore hear the word of יהוה; I saw יהוה sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.19And יהוה said, Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one spake saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner.20Then there came out a spirit, and stood before יהוה, and said, I will entice him. And יהוה said unto him, Wherewith?21And he said, I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And יהוה said, Thou shalt entice him, and thou shalt also prevail: go out, and do even so.22Now therefore, behold, יהוה hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets, and יהוה hath spoken evil against thee.23Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and smote MicaiYah upon the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of יהוה from me to speak unto thee?24And MicaiYah said, Behold, thou shalt see on that day when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself. 25Then the king of Israel said, Take ye MicaiYah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king’s son;26And say, Thus saith the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I return in peace.27And MicaiYah said, If thou certainly return in peace, then hath not יהוה spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, all ye people.
28So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramothgilead.29And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and will go to the battle; but put thou on thy robes. So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went to the battle.30Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of the chariots that were with him, saying, Fight ye not with small or great, save only with the king of Israel.31And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they compassed about him to fight: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and יהוה helped him; and Elohim moved them to depart from him.32For it came to pass, that, when the captains of the chariots perceived that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back again from pursuing him. 33And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: therefore he said to his chariot man, Turn thine hand, that thou mayest carry me out of the host; for I am wounded. 34And the battle increased that day: howbeit the king of Israel stayed himself up in his chariot against the Syrians until the even: and about the time of the sun going down he died.
New Living Translation with Restored Names
Then Jehoshaphat added, “But first let’s find out what יהוה says.”
5So King Ahab summoned his prophets, four hundred of them, and asked them, “Should we go to war against Ramoth-gilead or not?”
They all replied, “Go ahead, for Elohim will give you a great victory!”
6But Jehoshaphat asked, “Isn’t there a prophet of יהוה around, too? I would like to ask him the same question.”
7King Ahab replied, “There is still one prophet of יהוה, but I hate him. He never prophesies anything but bad news for me! His name is MicaiYah son of Imlah.”
“You shouldn’t talk like that,” Jehoshaphat said. “Let’s hear what he has to say.”
8So the king of Israel called one of his officials and said, “Quick! Go and get MicaiYah son of Imlah.”
MicaiYah Prophesies against Ahab
9King Ahab of Israel and King Jehoshaphat of Judah, dressed in their royal robes, were sitting on thrones at the threshing floor near the gate of Samaria. All of Ahab’s prophets were prophesying there in front of them. 10One of them, Zedekiah son of Kenaanah, made some iron horns and proclaimed, “This is what יהוה says: With these horns you will gore the Arameans to death!”
11All the other prophets agreed. “Yes,” they said, “go up to Ramoth-gilead and be victorious. יהוה will give you a glorious victory!”
12Meanwhile, the messenger who went to get MicaiYah said to him, “Look, all the prophets are promising victory for the king. Be sure that you agree with them and promise success.”
13But MicaiYah replied, “As surely as יהוה lives, I will say only what my Elohim tells me to say.”
14When MicaiYah arrived before the king, Ahab asked him, “MicaiYah, should we go to war against Ramoth-gilead or not?”
And MicaiYah replied, “Go right ahead! It will be a glorious victory!”
15But the king replied sharply, “How many times must I demand that you speak only the truth when you speak for יהוה?”
16So MicaiYah told him, “In a vision I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, like sheep without a shepherd. And יהוה said, ‘Their master has been killed. Send them home in peace.’”
17“Didn’t I tell you?” the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat. “He does it every time. He never prophesies anything but bad news for me.”
18Then MicaiYah continued, “Listen to what יהוה says! I saw יהוה sitting on his throne with all the armies of heaven on his right and on his left. 19And יהוה said, ‘Who can entice King Ahab of Israel to go into battle against Ramoth-gilead so that he can be killed there?’ There were many suggestions, 20until finally a spirit approached יהוה and said, ‘I can do it!’ “‘How will you do this?’ יהוה asked. 21“And the spirit replied, ‘I will go out and inspire all Ahab’s prophets to speak lies.’ “‘You will succeed,’ said יהוה. ‘Go ahead and do it.’
22“So you see, יהוה has put a lying spirit in the mouths of your prophets. For יהוה has determined disaster for you.”
23Then Zedekiah son of Kenaanah walked up to MicaiYah and slapped him across the face. “When did the Spirit of יהוה leave me to speak to you?” he demanded.
24And MicaiYah replied, “You will find out soon enough, when you find yourself hiding in some secret room!”
25King Ahab of Israel then ordered, “Arrest MicaiYah and take him back to Amon, the governor of the city, and to my son Joash. 26Give them this order from the king: ‘Put this man in prison, and feed him nothing but bread and water until I return safely from the battle!’”
27But MicaiYah replied, “If you return safely, יהוה has not spoken through me!” Then he added to those standing around, “Take note of what I have said.”
The Death of Ahab
28So the king of Israel and King Jehoshaphat of Judah led their armies against Ramoth-gilead. 29Now King Ahab said to Jehoshaphat, “As we go into battle, I will disguise myself so no one will recognize me, but you wear your royal robes.” So Ahab disguised himself, and they went into battle.
30Now the king of Aram had issued these orders to his charioteers: “Attack only the king of Israel!” 31So when the Aramean charioteers saw Jehoshaphat in his royal robes, they went after him. “There is the king of Israel!” they shouted. But Jehoshaphat cried out to יהוה to save him, and Elohim helped him by turning the attack away from him. 32As soon as the charioteers realized he was not the king of Israel, they stopped chasing him.
33An Aramean soldier, however, randomly shot an arrow at the Israelite troops, and the arrow hit the king of Israel between the joints of his armor. “Get me out of here!” Ahab groaned to the driver of his chariot. “I have been badly wounded!” 34The battle raged all that day, and Ahab propped himself up in his chariot facing the Arameans until evening. Then, just as the sun was setting, he died.
8: For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against יהוה, to provoke the eyes of his glory. 9: The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves. 10: Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. 11: Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him. 12: As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.
Sinful Leaders Condemned
9Come, wild animals of the field! Come, wild animals of the forest! Come and devour my people! 10For the leaders of my people—יהוה’s watchmen, his shepherds—are blind to every danger. They are like silent watchdogs that give no warning when danger comes. They love to lie around, sleeping and dreaming. 11And they are as greedy as dogs, never satisfied. They are stupid shepherds, all following their own path, all of them intent on personal gain.
12“Come,” they say. “We will get some wine and have a party. Let’s all get drunk. Let this go on and on, and tomorrow will be even better.”
Deception by False Prophets
4“Jeremiah, say to the people, ‘This is what יהוה says: When people fall down, don’t they get up again? When they start down the wrong road and discover their mistake, don’t they turn back? 5Then why do these people keep going along their self-destructive path, refusing to turn back, even though I have warned them? 6I listen to their conversations, and what do I hear? Is anyone sorry for sin? Does anyone say, “What a terrible thing I have done”? No! All are running down the path of sin as swiftly as a horse rushing into battle! 7The stork knows the time of her migration, as do the turtledove, the swallow, and the crane. They all return at the proper time each year. But not my people! They do not know what יהוה requires of them.
8“‘How can you say, “We are wise because we have the law of יהוה,” when your teachers have twisted it so badly? 9These wise teachers will be shamed by exile for their sin, for they have rejected the word of יהוה. Are they so wise after all? 10I will give their wives and their farms to others. From the least to the greatest, they trick others to get what does not belong to them. Yes, even my prophets and priests are like that. 11They offer superficial treatments for my people’s mortal wound. They give assurances of peace when all is war. 12Are they ashamed when they do these disgusting things? No, not at all—they don’t even blush! Therefore, they will lie among the slaughtered. They will be humbled when they are punished, says יהוה. 13I will take away their rich harvests of figs and grapes. Their fruit trees will all die. All the good things I prepared for them will soon be gone. I, יהוה, have spoken!’
The Coming Destruction
17“Pack your bag and prepare to leave; the siege is about to begin,” 18says יהוה. “For suddenly, I will fling you from this land and pour great troubles upon you. At last you will feel my anger.”
19My wound is desperate, and my grief is great. My sickness is incurable, but I must bear it. 20My home is gone, and no one is left to help me rebuild it. My children have been taken away, and I will never see them again. 21The shepherds of my people have lost their senses. They no longer follow יהוה or ask what he wants of them. Therefore, they fail completely, and their flocks are scattered. 22Listen! Hear the terrifying roar of great armies as they roll down from the north. The towns of Judah will be destroyed and will become a haunt for jackals.
“Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture!” says יהוה. 2 Therefore thus says יהוה Elohim of Israel against the shepherds who feed My people: “You have scattered My flock, driven them away, and not attended to them. Behold, I will attend to you for the evil of your doings,” says יהוה. 3 “But I will gather the remnant of My flock out of all countries where I have driven them, and bring them back to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase. 4 I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, nor shall they be lacking,” says יהוה.
5 “Behold, the days are coming,” says יהוה,
“That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness;
A King shall reign and prosper,
And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.
6 In His days Judah will be saved,
And Israel will dwell safely;
Now this is His name by which He will be called:
יהוה OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
7 “Therefore, behold, the days are coming,” says יהוה, “that they shall no longer say, ‘As יהוה lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt,’ 8 but, ‘As יהוה lives who brought up and led the descendants of the house of Israel from the north country and from all the countries where I had driven them.’ And they shall dwell in their own land.”
False Prophets and Empty Oracles
9 My heart within me is broken
Because of the prophets;
All my bones shake.
I am like a drunken man,
And like a man whom wine has overcome,
Because of יהוה,
And because of His holy words.
10For the land is full of adulterers;
For because of a curse the land mourns.
The pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up.
Their course of life is evil,
And their might is not right.
11 “For both prophet and priest are profane;
Yes, in My house I have found their wickedness,” says יהוה.
12 “Therefore their way shall be to them
Like slippery ways;
In the darkness they shall be driven on
And fall in them;
For I will bring disaster on them,
The year of their punishment,” says יהוה.
13 “And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria:
They prophesied by Lord
And caused My people Israel to err.
14 Also I have seen a horrible thing in the prophets of Jerusalem:
They commit adultery and walk in lies;
They also strengthen the hands of evildoers,
So that no one turns back from his wickedness.
All of them are like Sodom to Me,
And her inhabitants like Gomorrah.
15 “Therefore thus says יהוה of hosts concerning the prophets:
‘Behold, I will feed them with wormwood,
And make them drink the water of gall;
For from the prophets of Jerusalem
Profaneness has gone out into all the land.’ ”
16 Thus says יהוה of hosts:
“Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They make you worthless; They speak a vision of their own heart,
Not from the mouth of יהוה.
17 They continually say to those who despise Me, ‘יהוה has said, “You shall have peace” ’; And to everyone who walks according to the dictates of his own heart, they say, ‘No evil shall come upon you.’ ” 18 For who has stood in the counsel of יהוה, And has perceived and heard His word? Who has marked His word and heard it? 19 Behold, a whirlwind of יהוה has gone forth in fury— A violent whirlwind! It will fall violently on the head of the wicked. 20 The anger of יהוה will not turn back
Until He has executed and performed the thoughts of His heart.
In the latter days you will understand it perfectly.
21 “I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran. I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. 22 But if they had stood in My counsel, And had caused My people to hear My words, Then they would have turned them from their evil way And from the evil of their doings.
23 “Am I a Elohim near at hand,” says יהוה,
“And not a Elohim afar off?
24 Can anyone hide himself in secret places,
So I shall not see him?” says יהוה;
“Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says יהוה.
25 “I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy lies in My name, saying, ‘I have dreamed, I have dreamed!’ 26 How long will this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies? Indeed they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart, 27 who try to make My people forget My name by their dreams which everyone tells his neighbor, as their fathers forgot My name for "Lord."
28 “The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream;
And he who has My word, let him speak My word faithfully.
What is the chaff to the wheat?” says יהוה.
29 “Is not My word like a fire?” says יהוה,
“And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?
30 “Therefore behold, I am against the prophets,” says יהוה, “who steal My words every one from his neighbor. 31 Behold, I am against the prophets,” says יהוה, “who use their tongues and say, ‘He says.’ 32 Behold, I am against those who prophesy false dreams,” says יהוה, “and tell them, and cause My people to err by their lies and by their recklessness. Yet I did not send them or command them; therefore they shall not profit this people at all,” says יהוה.
33 “So when these people or the prophet or the priest ask you, saying, ‘What is the oracle of יהוה?’ you shall then say to them, ‘What oracle?’ I will even forsake you,” says יהוה. 34 “And as for the prophet and the priest and the people who say, ‘The oracle of יהוה!’ I will even punish that man and his house. 35 Thus every one of you shall say to his neighbor, and every one to his brother, ‘What has יהוה answered?’ and, ‘What has יהוה spoken?’ 36 And the oracle of יהוה you shall mention no more. For every man’s word will be his oracle, for you have perverted the words of the living Elohim, יהוה of hosts, our Elohim. 37 Thus you shall say to the prophet, ‘What has יהוה answered you?’ and, ‘What has יהוה spoken?’ 38 But since you say, ‘The oracle of יהוה!’ therefore thus says יהוה: ‘Because you say this word, “The oracle of יהוה!” and I have sent to you, saying, “Do not say, ‘The oracle of יהוה” 39 therefore behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you and forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and will cast you out of My presence. 40 And I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.’ ”
Shepherds lead the flock astray
6:My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.
14Thy prophets have seen vain and foolish things for thee: and they have not discovered thine iniquity, to turn away thy captivity; but have seen for thee false burdens and causes of banishment.
1Moreover the spirit lifted me up, and brought me unto the east gate of the house of יהוה, which looketh eastward: and behold at the door of the gate five and twenty men; among whom I saw Jaazaniah the son of Azur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.2Then said he unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise mischief, and give wicked counsel in this city:3Which say, It is not near; let us build houses: this city is the caldron, and we be the flesh. 4Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man.5And the Spirit of יהוה fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak; Thus saith יהוה; Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind, every one of them.6Ye have multiplied your slain in this city, and ye have filled the streets thereof with the slain.7Therefore thus saith יהוה Elohim; Your slain whom ye have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and this city is the caldron: but I will bring you forth out of the midst of it.8Ye have feared the sword; and I will bring a sword upon you, saith יהוה Elohim.9And I will bring you out of the midst thereof, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you.10Ye shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the border of Israel; and ye shall know that I am יהוה.11This city shall not be your caldron, neither shall ye be the flesh in the midst thereof; but I will judge you in the border of Israel:12And ye shall know that I am יהוה: for ye have not walked in my statutes, neither executed my judgments, but have done after the manners of the heathen that are round about you. 13And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah יהוה Elohim! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel?
14Again the word of יהוה came unto me, saying,15Son of man, thy brethren, even thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel wholly, are they unto whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Get you far from יהוה: unto us is this land given in possession.16Therefore say, Thus saith יהוה Elohim; Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come.17Therefore say, Thus saith יהוה Elohim; I will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.18And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the detestable things thereof and all the abominations thereof from thence.19And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:20That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their Elohim.21But as for them whose heart walketh after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their way upon their own heads, saith יהוה Elohim.
Judgment against False Prophets
Then this message came to me from יהוה: 2“Son of man, speak against the false prophets of Israel who are inventing their own prophecies. Tell them to listen to the word of יהוה. 3This is what the Sovereign יהוה says: Destruction is certain for the false prophets who are following their own imaginations and have seen nothing at all!
4“O people of Israel, these prophets of yours are like jackals digging around in the ruins. 5They have done nothing to strengthen the breaks in the walls around the nation. They have not helped it to stand firm in battle on the day of יהוה. 6Instead, they have lied and said, ‘My message is from יהוה,’ even though יהוה never sent them. And yet they expect him to fulfill their prophecies! 7Can your visions be anything but false if you claim, ‘This message is from יהוה,’ when I have not even spoken to you?
8“Therefore, this is what Sovereign יהוה says: Because what you say is false and your visions are a lie, I will stand against you, says the Sovereign יהוה. 9I will raise my fist against all the lying prophets, and they will be banished from the community of Israel. I will blot their names from Israel’s record books, and they will never again see their own land. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign יהוה!
10“These evil prophets deceive my people by saying, ‘All is peaceful!’ when there is no peace at all! It’s as if the people have built a flimsy wall, and these prophets are trying to hold it together by covering it with whitewash! 11Tell these whitewashers that their wall will soon fall down. A heavy rainstorm will undermine it; great hailstones and mighty winds will knock it down. 12And when the wall falls, the people will cry out, ‘Where is the whitewash you applied?’
13“Therefore, this is what says: I will sweep away your whitewashed wall with a storm of indignation, with a great flood of anger, and with hailstones of fury. 14I will break down your wall right to the foundation, and when it falls, it will crush you. Then you will know that I am יהוה! 15At last my anger against the wall and those who covered it with whitewash will be satisfied. Then I will say to you: ‘The wall and those who whitewashed it are both gone. 16They were lying prophets who claimed peace would come to Jerusalem when there was no peace. I, the Sovereign יהוה, have spoken!’
Judgment against False Women Prophets
17“Now, son of man, also speak out against the women who prophesy from their own imaginations. 18This is what Sovereign יהוה says: Destruction is certain for you women who are ensnaring the souls of my people, both young and old alike. You tie magic charms on their wrists and furnish them with magic veils. Do you think you can trap others without bringing destruction on yourselves? 19You turn my people away from me for a few handfuls of barley or a piece of bread. By lying to my people who love to listen to lies, you kill those who should not die, and you promise life to those who should not live.
20“And so Sovereign יהוה says: I am against all your magic charms, which you use to ensnare my people like birds. I will tear them from your arms, setting my people free like birds set free from a cage. 21I will tear off the magic veils and save my people from your grasp. They will no longer be your victims. Then you will know that I am יהוה. 22You have discouraged the righteous with your lies, when I didn’t want them to suffer grief. And you have encouraged the wicked by promising them life, even though they continue in their sins. 23But you will no longer talk of seeing visions that you never saw, nor will you practice your magic. For I will rescue my people from your grasp. Then you will know that I am יהוה.”
7For every one of the house of Israel, or of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel, which separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to a prophet to enquire of him concerning me; I יהוה will answer him by myself:8And I will set my face against that man, and will make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people; and ye shall know that I am יהוה.9And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I יהוה have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.10And they shall bear the punishment of their iniquity: the punishment of the prophet shall be even as the punishment of him that seeketh unto him;11That the house of Israel may go no more astray from me, neither be polluted any more with all their transgressions; but that they may be my people, and I may be their Elohim, saith יהוה Elohim.
22:24 Son of man, say unto her, Thou art the land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation. 22:25There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof. 22:26 Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them. 22:27 Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain. 22:28 And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Master , when hath not spoken. 22:29 The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully. 22:30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. 22:31 Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Master .
The Shepherds of Israel
34 Then this message came to me from יהוה: 2“Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds, the leaders of Israel. Give them this message from Sovereign יהוה: Destruction is certain for you shepherds who feed yourselves instead of your flocks. Shouldn’t shepherds feed their sheep?3You drink the milk, wear the wool, and butcher the best animals, but you let your flocks starve. 4You have not taken care of the weak. You have not tended the sick or bound up the broken bones. You have not gone looking for those who have wandered away and are lost. Instead, you have ruled them with force and cruelty. 5So my sheep have been scattered without a shepherd. They are easy prey for any wild animal. 6They have wandered through the mountains and hills, across the face of the earth, yet no one has gone to search for them.
7“Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of יהוה: 8As surely as I live, says the Sovereign יהוה, you abandoned my flock and left them to be attacked by every wild animal. Though you were my shepherds, you didn’t search for my sheep when they were lost. You took care of yourselves and left the sheep to starve. 9Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of יהוה. 10This is what Sovereign יהוהsays: I now consider these shepherds my enemies, and I will hold them responsible for what has happened to my flock. I will take away their right to feed the flock, along with their right to feed themselves. I will rescue my flock from their mouths; the sheep will no longer be their prey.
Hear the word of יהוה,
You children of Israel,
For יהוה brings a charge against the inhabitants of the land:
“There is no truth or mercy
Or knowledge of Elohim in the land.
2By swearing and lying,
Killing and stealing and committing adultery,
They break all restraint,
With bloodshed upon bloodshed.
3 Therefore the land will mourn;
And everyone who dwells there will waste away
With the beasts of the field
And the birds of the air;
Even the fish of the sea will be taken away.
4 “Now let no man contend, or rebuke another;
For your people are like those who contend with the priest.
5 Therefore you shall stumble in the day;
The prophet also shall stumble with you in the night;
And I will destroy your mother.
6My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
Because you have rejected knowledge,
I also will reject you from being priest for Me;
Because you have forgotten the law of your Elohim,
I also will forget your children.
7 “The more they increased,
The more they sinned against Me;
I will change their glory into shame.
8 They eat up the sin of My people;
They set their heart on their iniquity.
9 And it shall be: like people, like priest.
So I will punish them for their ways,
And reward them for their deeds.
10 For they shall eat, but not have enough;
They shall commit harlotry, but not increase;
Because they have ceased obeying יהוה.
True and False Prophets
6“Don’t say such things,” the people say. “Don’t prophesy like that. Such disasters will never come our way!”
7Should you talk that way, O family of Israel? Will יהוה have patience with such behavior? If you would do what is right, you would find my words to be good. 8Yet to this very hour my people rise against me! You steal the shirts right off the backs of those who trusted you, making them as ragged as men who have just come home from battle. 9You have evicted women from their homes and stripped their children of all their Elohim-given rights. 10Up! Begone! This is no longer your land and home, for you have filled it with sin and ruined it completely.
11Suppose a prophet full of lies were to say to you, “I’ll preach to you the joys of wine and drink!” That’s just the kind of prophet you would like!
Judgment against Israel’s Leaders
3 Listen, you leaders of Israel! You are supposed to know right from wrong, 2but you are the very ones who hate good and love evil. You skin my people alive and tear the flesh off their bones. 3You eat my people’s flesh, cut away their skin, and break their bones. You chop them up like meat for the cooking pot. 4Then you beg יהוה for help in times of trouble! Do you really expect him to listen? After all the evil you have done, he won’t even look at you!
5This is what יהוה says to you false prophets: “You are leading my people astray! You promise peace for those who give you food, but you declare war on anyone who refuses to pay you. 6Now the night will close around you, cutting off all your visions. Darkness will cover you, making it impossible for you to predict the future. The sun will set for you prophets, and your day will come to an end. 7Then you seers will cover your faces in shame, and you diviners will be disgraced. And you will admit that your messages were not from Elohim.”
8But as for me, I am filled with power and the Spirit of יהוה. I am filled with justice and might, fearlessly pointing out Israel’s sin and rebellion. 9Listen to me, you leaders of Israel! You hate justice and twist all that is right.10You are building Jerusalem on a foundation of murder and corruption.11You rulers govern for the bribes you can get; you priests teach Elohim’s laws only for a price; you prophets won’t prophesy unless you are paid. Yet all of you claim you are depending on יהוה. “No harm can come to us,” you say, “for יהוה is here among us.”
12So because of you, Mount Zion will be plowed like an open field; Jerusalem will be reduced to rubble! A great forest will grow on the hilltop, where the Temple now stands.
1: Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city!
2: She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in יהוה; she drew not near to her Elohim.
3: Her princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they gnaw not the bones till the morrow.
4: Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.
5: The just יהוה is in the midst thereof; he will not do iniquity: every morning doth he bring his judgment to light, he faileth not; but the unjust knoweth no shame.
6: I have cut off the nations: their towers are desolate; I made their streets waste, that none passeth by: their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, that there is none inhabitant.
7: I said, Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt receive instruction; so their dwelling should not be cut off, howsoever I punished them: but they rose early, and corrupted all their doings.
Zec 10:2 For the household idols spoke emptiness, the diviners saw falsehood, and relate dreams of deceit, they comfort in vain. Therefore they have wandered about like sheep. They are afflicted, for there is no shepherd1. Footnote: 1Ezek. 34:5 & 8. Zec 10:3 “My wrath burns against the shepherds, and I lay a charge against the leaders. For יהוה of hosts shall visit His flock, the house of Yehuḏah, and make them like His splendid horse in battle. Zec 10:4 “From him comes the corner-stone, from him the tent peg, from him the battle bow, from him every ruler, together.
2For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd. 3Mine anger was kindled against the shepherds, and I punished the goats: for יהוה of hosts hath visited his flock the house of Judah, and hath made them as his goodly horse in the battle. 4Out of him came forth the corner, out of him the nail, out of him the battle bow, out of him every oppressor together.
15: Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16: Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17: Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18: A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19: Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20: Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21: Not every one that saith unto me, "Lord, Lord," shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22: Many will say to me in that day, "Lord, Lord," have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23: And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity (lawlessness).
7: Ye hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,
8: This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with
their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9: But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments
Mat 15:10 And calling the crowd near, He said to them, “Hear and understand: Mat 15:11 “Not that which goes into the mouth defiles the man, but that which comes out of the mouth, this defiles the man.” Mat 15:12 Then His taught ones came and said to Him, “Do You know that the Pharisees stumbled when they heard this word?” Mat 15:13 But He answering, said, “Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted shall be uprooted. Mat 15:14 “Leave them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both shall fall into a ditch.”
13 “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in. 14 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.
15 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.
16 “Woe to you, blind guides, who say, ‘Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is obliged to perform it.’ 17 Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that sanctifies the gold? 18 And, ‘Whoever swears by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gift that is on it, he is obliged to perform it.’ 19 Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that sanctifies the gift? 20 Therefore he who swears by the altar, swears by it and by all things on it. 21 He who swears by the temple, swears by it and by Him who dwells in it. 22 And he who swears by heaven, swears by the throne of Elohim and by Him who sits on it.
23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. 24 Blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!
25 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence. 26 Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also.
27 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. 28 Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
29 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the monuments of the righteous, 30 and say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.’
31 “Therefore you are witnesses against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. 32 Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers’ guilt.33 Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell? 34 Therefore, indeed, I send you prophets, wise men, and scribes: some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city, 35 that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of ZechariYah, son of BerechiYah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. 36 Assuredly, I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation.
3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”
4 And Yahushua answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am anointed,’ and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.
23 “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the an annointed one!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it.24 For false anointed-ones and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you beforehand.
26 “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it.
26: Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you!For so did their fathers to the false prophets.
45 Then, in the hearing of all the people, He said to His disciples, 46 “Beware of the scribes, who desire to go around in long robes, love greetings in the marketplaces, the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts, 47 who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation.”
“And now beware! Be sure that you feed and shepherd Elohim’s flock—his church, purchased with his blood—over whom the Holy Spirit has appointed you as elders. 29I know full well that false teachers, like vicious wolves, will come in among you after I leave, not sparing the flock. 30Even some of you will distort the truth in order to draw a following.31Watch out! Remember the three years I was with you—my constant watch and care over you night and day, and my many tears for you.
2 Corinthians 11
10: As the truth of Messiah is in me, no man shall stop me of this boasting in the regions of Achaia. 11: Wherefore? because I love you not? Elohim knoweth. 12: But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we. 13: For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Messiah. 14: And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15: Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
Greetings from Paul
1 This letter is from Paul, an apostle. I was not appointed by any group or by human authority. My call is from Yahushua Messiah himself and from Elohim the Father, who raised Yahushua from the dead.
2All the brothers and sisters here join me in sending greetings to the churches of Galatia.
3May grace and peace be yours from Elohim our Father and from Master Yahushua Messiah. 4He died for our sins, just as Yah our Father planned, in order to rescue us from this evil world in which we live. 5That is why all glory belongs to Elohim through all the ages of eternity. Amen.
There Is Only One Good News
6I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from Elohim, who in his love and mercy called you to share the eternal life he gives through Messiah. You are already following a different way 7that pretends to be the Good News but is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who twist and change the truth concerning Messiah.
8Let Elohim’s curse fall on anyone, including myself, who preaches any other message than the one we told you about. Even if an angel comes from heaven and preaches any other message, let him be forever cursed. 9I will say it again: If anyone preaches any other gospel than the one you welcomed, let Elohim’s curse fall upon that person.
17: Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.
18: (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the torture-stake of Messiah:
19: Whose end is destruction, whose Elohim is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
20: For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, יהוה Yahushua Messiah:
21: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
2 Peter 2
1: But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.
2: And many will follow their licentiousness, and because of them the way of truth will be reviled.
9So you see, יהוה knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, even while punishing the wicked right up until the day of judgment. 10He is especially hard on those who follow their own evil, lustful desires and who despise authority. These people are proud and arrogant, daring even to scoff at the glorious ones without so much as trembling. 11But the angels, even though they are far greater in power and strength than these false teachers, never speak out disrespectfully against the glorious ones.
12These false teachers are like unthinking animals, creatures of instinct, who are born to be caught and killed. They laugh at the terrifying powers they know so little about, and they will be destroyed along with them. 13Their destruction is their reward for the harm they have done. They love to indulge in evil pleasures in broad daylight. They are a disgrace and a stain among you. They revel in deceitfulness while they feast with you. 14They commit adultery with their eyes, and their lust is never satisfied. They make a game of luring unstable people into sin. They train themselves to be greedy; they are doomed and cursed. 15They have wandered off the right road and followed the way of Balaam son of Beor, who loved to earn money by doing wrong. 16But Balaam was stopped from his mad course when his donkey rebuked him with a human voice.
17These people are as useless as dried-up springs of water or as clouds blown away by the wind—promising much and delivering nothing. They are doomed to blackest darkness. 18They brag about themselves with empty, foolish boasting. With lustful desire as their bait, they lure back into sin those who have just escaped from such wicked living. 19They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves to sin and corruption. For you are a slave to whatever controls you. 20And when people escape from the wicked ways of the world by learning about our Lord and Savior Yahushua Messiah and then get tangled up with sin and become its slave again, they are worse off than before. 21It would be better if they had never known the right way to live than to know it and then reject the holy commandments that were given to them. 22They make these proverbs come true: “A dog returns to its vomit,” and “A washed pig returns to the mud.”
2 Peter 3
15And remember, יהוה is waiting so that people have time to be saved. This is just as our beloved brother Paul wrote to you with the wisdom Elohim gave him—16speaking of these things in all of his letters. Some of his comments are hard to understand, and those who are ignorant and unstable have twisted his letters around to mean something quite different from what he meant, just as they do the other parts of Scripture—and the result is disaster for them.
Peter’s Final Words
17I am warning you ahead of time, dear friends, so that you can watch out and not be carried away by the errors of these wicked people. I don’t want you to lose your own secure footing. 18But grow in the special favor and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Yahushua Messiah.
To him be all glory and honor, both now and forevermore. Amen.
2 Thessalonians 2
3: Let no one deceive you in any way; for that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of perdition, 4:who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of Elohim, proclaiming himself to be Elohim. 5: Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you this? 6: And you know what is restraining him now so that he may be revealed in his time. 7: For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way. 8: And then the lawless one will be revealed, and יהוה Yahushua will slay him with the breath of his mouth and destroy him by his appearing and his coming. 9: The coming of the lawless one by the activity of Satan will be with all power and with pretended signs and wonders, 10: and with all wicked deception for those who are to perish, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11: Therefore Elohim sends upon them a strong delusion, to make them believe what is false, 12: so that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
1 Timothy 1
Warnings against False Teachings
3When I left for Macedonia, I urged you to stay there in Ephesus and stop those who are teaching wrong doctrine. 4Don’t let people waste time in endless speculation over myths and spiritual pedigrees. For these things only cause arguments; they don’t help people live a life of faith in Elohim. 5The purpose of my instruction is that all the Messiahians there would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and sincere faith.
6But some teachers have missed this whole point. They have turned away from these things and spend their time arguing and talking foolishness. 7They want to be known as teachers of the law of Moses, but they don’t know what they are talking about, even though they seem so confident. 8We know these laws are good when they are used as Elohim intended. 9But they were not made for people who do what is right. They are for people who are disobedient and rebellious, who are ungodly and sinful, who consider nothing sacred and defile what is holy, who murder their father or mother or other people. 10These laws are for people who are sexually immoral, for homosexuals and slave traders, for liars and oath breakers, and for those who do anything else that contradicts the right teaching 11that comes from the glorious Good News entrusted to me by our blessed Elohim.
1 Timothy 6
3 If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Master Yahushua Messiah, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness, 4 he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, 5 useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself.
2 Timothy 3
But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of Elohim, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; 9 but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.
10 But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance, 11 persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra—what persecutions I endured. And out of them all יהוה delivered me. 12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Messiah Yahushua will suffer persecution. 13But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them,15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Messiah Yahushua.
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of Elohim, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of Elohim may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
1 John 2
18Dear children, the last hour is here. You have heard that the AntiMessiah is coming, and already many such antiMessiahs have appeared. From this we know that the end of the world has come. 19These people left our churches because they never really belonged with us; otherwise they would have stayed with us. When they left us, it proved that they do not belong with us. 20But you are not like that, for the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and all of you know the truth. 21So I am writing to you not because you don’t know the truth but because you know the difference between truth and falsehood. 22And who is the great liar? The one who says that Yahushua is not the Messiah. Such people are antiMessiahs, for they have denied the Father and the Son. 23Anyone who denies the Son doesn’t have the Father either. But anyone who confesses the Son has the Father also.
24So you must remain faithful to what you have been taught from the beginning. If you do, you will continue to live in fellowship with the Son and with the Father. 25And in this fellowship we enjoy the eternal life he promised us.
26I have written these things to you because you need to be aware of those who want to lead you astray. 27But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you all things, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So continue in what he has taught you, and continue to live in Messiah.
5And now I want to urge you, dear lady, that we should love one another. This is not a new commandment, but one we had from the beginning. 6Love means doing what Elohim has commanded us, and he has commanded us to love one another, just as you heard from the beginning.
7Many deceivers have gone out into the world. They do not believe that Yahushua Messiah came to earth in a real body. Such a person is a deceiver and an antiMessiah.8Watch out, so that you do not lose the prize for which we have been working so hard. Be diligent so that you will receive your full reward. 9For if you wander beyond the teaching of Messiah, you will not have fellowship with Elohim. But if you continue in the teaching of Messiah, you will have fellowship with both the Father and the Son.
10If someone comes to your meeting and does not teach the truth about Messiah, don’t invite him into your house or encourage him in any way. 11Anyone who encourages him becomes a partner in his evil work.
3Dearly loved friends, I had been eagerly planning to write to you about the salvation we all share. But now I find that I must write about something else, urging you to defend the truth of the Good News. Elohim gave this unchanging truth once for all time to his holy people. 4I say this because some godless people have wormed their way in among you, saying that Elohim’s forgiveness allows us to live immoral lives. The fate of such people was determined long ago, for they have turned against our only Master and Teacher, Yahushua Messiah.
5I must remind you—and you know it well—that even though יהוה rescued the whole nation of Israel from Egypt, he later destroyed every one of those who did not remain faithful. 6And I remind you of the angels who did not stay within the limits of authority Elohim gave them but left the place where they belonged. Elohim has kept them chained in prisons of darkness, waiting for the day of judgment. 7And don’t forget the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns, which were filled with sexual immorality and every kind of sexual perversion. Those cities were destroyed by fire and are a warning of the eternal fire that will punish all who are evil.
8Yet these false teachers, who claim authority from their dreams, live immoral lives, defy authority, and scoff at the power of the glorious ones. 9But even Michael, one of the mightiest of the angels, did not dare accuse Satan of blasphemy, but simply said, “יהוה rebuke you.” (This took place when Michael was arguing with Satan about Moses’ body.) 10But these people mock and curse the things they do not understand. Like animals, they do whatever their instincts tell them, and they bring about their own destruction. 11How terrible it will be for them! For they follow the evil example of Cain, who killed his brother. Like Balaam, they will do anything for money. And like Korah, they will perish because of their rebellion.
12When these people join you in fellowship meals celebrating the love of יהוה, they are like dangerous reefs that can shipwreck you. They are shameless in the way they care only about themselves. They are like clouds blowing over dry land without giving rain, promising much but producing nothing. They are like trees without fruit at harvesttime. They are not only dead but doubly dead, for they have been pulled out by the roots. 13They are like wild waves of the sea, churning up the dirty foam of their shameful deeds. They are wandering stars, heading for everlasting gloom and darkness.
14Now Enoch, who lived seven generations after Adam, prophesied about these people. He said,
“Look, יהוה is coming
with thousands of his holy ones.
15 He will bring the people of the world
He will convict the ungodly of all the evil things
they have done in rebellion
and of all the insults that godless sinners
have spoken against him.”
16These people are grumblers and complainers, doing whatever evil they feel like. They are loudmouthed braggarts, and they flatter others to get favors in return.
A Call to Remain Faithful
17But you, my dear friends, must remember what the apostles of our Lord Yahushua Messiah told you, 18that in the last times there would be scoffers whose purpose in life is to enjoy themselves in every evil way imaginable.19Now they are here, and they are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They live by natural instinct because they do not have Elohim’s Spirit living in them.
20But you, dear friends, must continue to build your lives on the foundation of your holy faith. And continue to pray as you are directed by the Holy Spirit. 21Live in such a way that Elohim’s love can bless you as you wait for the eternal life that our Master Yahushua Messiah in his mercy is going to give you. 22Show mercy to those whose faith is wavering. 23Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. There are still others to whom you need to show mercy, but be careful that you aren’t contaminated by their sins.
A Prayer of Praise
24And now, all glory to Elohim, who is able to keep you from stumbling, and who will bring you into his glorious presence innocent of sin and with great joy. 25All glory to him, who alone is Elohim our Savior, through Yahushua Messiah our Master. Yes, glory, majesty, power, and authority belong to him, in the beginning, now, and forevermore. Amen.
